MHP HK appoints James Hill
MHP Communications announces that James Hill has joined the consultancy as General Manager of its Hong Kong office.
James brings more than 16 years’ experience in equity capital markets, investor relations and strategic communications to the role. Before joining MHP, he was Partner at communications agency Finsbury, where he helped establish the firm’s first Asia office in Hong Kong in 2011. His clients included leading organisations such as Volkswagen Group, the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, Foxconn Technology, Sun Hung Kai Properties and Galaxy Entertainment Group. Before moving to Asia, James was Head of Financial Communications at Cable&Wireless Worldwide.
In his new role, James will focus on developing the consultancy’s strong existing financial and professional services and TMT offering, and extending its capital markets presence across the region. He will report to Emma Smith, Chief Executive of MHP Asia Pacific.
James’ appointment marks the latest chapter in MHP’s growth in the region, which saw the firm open an office in Singapore in April last year and increase its headcount and retained client base by 50% over the same period. In May 2018, MHP’s Singapore office was shortlisted as New Agency of the Year by the PR Week Asia Awards.
Emma Smith, Chief Executive of MHP Asia Pacific said:
“We have longstanding strategic advisory experience in Asia and a growing network of offices, which is translating to exciting mandates from leading businesses and individuals across several industries. James’ expertise in advising companies on complex reputation and investor relations briefs, including high profile cross border merger and acquisitions and crisis and issues management, complements our existing skillsets. He will be an invaluable member of the team as we look to build our business in this exciting and increasingly sophisticated communications marketplace.”
