IDS to speak at MHP Budget briefing
Former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith will be among the senior figures looking ahead to the Budget at an event organised by MHP.
As the Chancellor Philip Hammond puts the finishing touches to his speech on the morning of November 22, our guests will try to forecast the likely measures and their implications both politically and economically.
George Parker, Political Editor of the Financial Times and Graeme Leech CEO of Macronomics Consulting, will join Mr Duncan Smith on the panel – which will be hosted by MHP Communications’ head of Public Affairs James Gurling.
The cost of Brexit, a likely rise in interest rates and underlying GDP forecasts are all going to be in focus. Mr Hammond’s challenge of weighing prudent economic management with ideological political arguments leave him facing some difficult decisions.
Our panellists combine deep knowledge of business, politics and economics and will flag up all the key issues to watch out for as Budget day unfolds.
Date: November 22
Time: 0800 to 0900
Location: MHP Communications, 6 Agar Street, London WC2N 4HN
