Flying the flag for offshore wind

MHP has worked with Statkraft, a European renewable energy company since 2010, helping to establish and maintain relationships with Government and the civil service. This was a critical period ahead of bids for investment under the Contracts for Difference (CfD) policy framework.

MHP developed and implemented a stakeholder engagement programme, which included coordinating messaging across the company to reflect Government priorities. We identified and engaged with the senior civil servants who were key decision makers in the bid process, allowing Statkraft to engage directly.

Concurrently, we ran a drumbeat engagement campaign, highlighting and building on Statkraft’s role in the offshore wind industry, and meeting with wider stakeholders and engaging in broader government and select committee enquiries.

Statkraft has successfully built highly-regarded relationships across key Government targets and has been praised as a positive example of inward investment in renewable energy. In 2017, Statkraft were awarded a CfD for its flagship Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm, which is expects to trigger an investment of around £2.5billion into UK energy infrastructure throughout the project lifecycle.
