MHP was hired by Marshalls in 2015 with the remit of increasing the Group’s profile amongst City audiences and convey its revitalised investment story.
In March 2016, Marshalls announced its 2020 vision for the business. MHP helped the group to increase investor understanding of the 2020 strategy by drafting all key communications materials, from the press release and investor presentation through to media messaging and Q&A. We also put in place a media strategy that saw Marshalls highlight the depth of its products away from its core heritage in patio and driveways. MHP worked with Marshalls’ senior management team to boost the group’s media profile, positioning Marshalls as a “best in class” market leader in the UK hard landscaping market via a series of management interviews and op ed pieces across print, digital and broadcast platforms.
Reaction to the announcement was universally positive with the group’s shares rising 5% on the day of the announcement. Media coverage was accurate and extensive, spanning key national, newswire and trade titles, helping Marshalls to be acknowledged as one of the most compelling growth stories in the UK building materials sector. Today, Marshalls is one of the highest rated companies in the sector and is regularly praised for the clarity of its communications with investment audiences.
