Creating Oscar-Worthy Video Content with Kids

Talk Talk

The Academy Members may have cast their Oscars verdict for 2017, congratulations again to La La Land Moonlight, but over here in the UK it was a very different set of opinions which caused the biggest stir.

Our latest work for TalkTalk TV saw us enlist the help of a new breed of film critic to offer moviegoers a fresh (and media-worthy) perspective on this year’s Oscar contenders. As you’d expect, the critics were brutally honest, vocal and VERY animated. Unlike most film critics, however, they were aged between five and seven.

The kid critics were filmed discussing everything from La La Land and Lion to Florence Foster Jenkins, starring the comically pronounced ‘Metal Strip’ (Meryl Streep), with the content brought together into one hilarious short viral film.

Turned around in less than a week, time which also included a day’s filming with 10 sugar-crazed children running around on set, the activity was a huge success and showed that when it’s done well, video content is a great way to tell your brand story to media.

With coverage across no less than five national online titles, including Metro, Mirror and The Sun, as well as a host of other lifestyle and film sites, the video reached millions of people as far as the US. Importantly for the client, it generated a huge amount of buzz ahead of the arrival of these great films to TalkTalk TV.
