British Business Bank, the UK’s national economic development bank, has appointed MHP Communications to handle its PR and corporate communications following a tender to multiple agencies.
MHP Communications was appointed following a competitive procurement process, and will support the bank in meeting its KPIs and enhancing its reputation as a centre of excellence and expertise on SME finance.
British Business Bank was established two years ago with a remit to support a more diverse funding environment for smaller businesses and improve access to, and awareness of, finance options available.
The Bank does not lend to SMEs directly, rather, it works through the market, partnering with a wide range of financial institutions to increase access to funding, such as by providing part-guarantees for loans and through the Start Up Loans Company. To date, it has supported more than 51,000 businesses, working with over 90 delivery partners.
Siobhan Shea-Simonds, a Managing Director at MHP Communications, said: “We’re delighted to be providing PR and corporate communications support for British Business Bank. The organisation has done some fantastic work in helping SMEs to grow and we look forward to building on these foundations with our strong sector expertise.”
Graeme Fisher, MD Policy, Communications and Marketing, added: “MHP’s Communications bid demonstrated that they have a great understanding of the Bank’s communications objectives, strong Financial Services and public sector expertise as well as creative campaign ideas to support our team’s work. We are excited to be working with them.”
