Account Manager – Financial FPR/PLC

What is the role?

We are looking for an Account Manager to join our award winning financial team to work on an exciting portfolio of plc clients. The role will assume responsibility for the day to day lead on client programmes or part of larger programmes and to direct / advise colleagues. The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a forward thinking fast paced environment.

You will have financial services experience and strong media contacts both national, broadcast and trade publications.

Creative writing must be a strength, plus excellent organisational skills and the confidence to handle and deliver client programmes.

You will have experience of managing and guiding junior team members and delivering effective and profitable programmes.

You’ll have proven experience of forming strong client relationships built on trust, leadership and respect and understand the importance of staying creative and relevant in your approach in order to bring thoughtful ideas to client’s attention.

What are the main responsibilities?

  • Lead and develop media strategies, build relationships with relevant and key journalists and assist with issues and crisis management.
  • Assist with managing servicing and profitability and ensuring effective client counsel is provided.
  • Maintain a good understanding of clients’ business objectives, media and issues in their wider industry sector and managing of programmes to enable them to meet those objectives.
  • Assisting with new business preparation and pitching whilst maintaining prospect contacts.
  • Keep up to date with the latest social media trends, proactively developing material and awareness of MHP’s digital offering.
  • Managing and mentoring junior team members and providing on the job training.
