What is the role?

MHP Health, the multi-award winning specialist health policy consultancy, is looking for an Account Director to further expand our talented team to support business growth across our broad client base. As an Account Director you will shape and oversee the delivery of client programmes, advise clients on the content and overall strategy of programmes and direct and advise colleagues. The role will work across a range of accounts and will suit someone who enjoys working in a forward thinking fast paced environment.

You will be an ambitious healthcare public affairs/communications consultant with a genuine interest and passion for health policy and public affairs who is looking for an opportunity to develop their career. You’ll be committed to working and thinking hard, as well as having fun, delivering the outcomes that really matter for a range of commercial, voluntary and public sector clients – all of whom have an interest in health and care.

You will have experience of health public affairs or policy development through work in a previous agency/consultancy or in-house in a charity, commercial or public sector environment. The key requirements will be a solid understanding of health policy and passion for healthcare and a desire to apply these in a busy commercial environment and contribute to the success of a hard-working and passionate team. As an Account Director you will be responsible for managing and guiding junior team members ensuring effective team working.

In addition to client service responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to participate in MHP Health acclaimed original policy research programme, as well as our training and client service programmes which are designed to ensure that our team continues to be comprised of the best advisers in the business.

What are the main responsibilities?

  • Oversee all client contact whilst offering strategic client counsel and act as client lead on billing and servicing
  • Deliver agreed client programmes / actions with responsibility for providing timely and clear reporting on progress
  • Develop policy programmes for clients and devise strategy whilst identifying key factors which will impact implementation
  • Collect, log, manipulate and analyse data, highlighting key themes that will engage clients and external audiences
  • Participate in and, where appropriate, leading new business activities, including networking for leads
  • Actively contribute content for digital channels for both MHP and client and demonstrate a good understanding of the overall shape and role of social media
  • Manage & guide SAMs, AMs and Consultants and play an active part in delivering internal training
