Last week Barry Gardiner MP launched a new, rather gnomicly named, website – a forum to instigate debate and, ultimately, to influence policy.

In its first ten days, the site has already seen posts from the Conservative Party’s Mr Climate Change, Zac Goldmsith (‘Why I’m backing Hugh’s fish fight… and why you should to!’), the Green Party’s Leader and sole parliamentary representative Caroline Lucas MP and Professor David Hill, the new deputy chair of Natural England. This is in addition to Mr Gardiner’s own online musings on forest, food and EMR policy.

Although clearly in its embryonic stages, this new forum will undoubtedly be worth keeping an eye on over the next few months, and it will be interesting to see who Mr Gardiner recruits to post.

You can visit the website here: http://www.ipoak.org/about-ipoak-org/

Or follow on Twitter here: http://twitter.com/ipoak

In any case, Mr Gardiner continues to raise his profile as an environmentally minded member of the House.

As the ‘quotes’ page on ipoak.org says:

"It is a fault in man or woman
Who steals a goose from off a common
But what can plead the man’s excuse
Who steals a common off a goose?”
