Lessons from ministerial speeches

Organisations and businesses in the media and leisure sector have received the highest number of mentions by Ministers in formal speeches.

That’s one of the key findings from our MHP research which we published yesterday. In many respects, that is not surprising as there have been a number of high profile issues recently attracting political attention. However on closer analysis what is perhaps a bit more surprising is that, unlike other sectors, the majority of the references are actually in relation to public sector or lottery funded bodies.

So clearly the challenge for successful businesses in the media and leisure sector is to think about how they can increase public and political recognition for what they do.
