Digital paper vs ink on your fingers

Written by Gemma Young on 12 March 2009

I have been reading with interest this week all about digital paper which looks set to revolutionise the way we read newspapers as we know it. At the moment, it appears to be a matter of when rather than if as technology advances at an alarming pace!

What I find fascinating is the idea of sitting down and reading a paper that looks like a regular paper but with the capabilities of updating and refreshing like a web page. I have to admit, I do find it rather exciting however would I be wrong in thinking that it could potentially spell out the end of the old fashioned newspaper?

I can’t help but conjure up a futuristic world of hover boards and teleporting (imagine being able to get home with needing to brave public transport!), what I want to know is will my trusty newspaper’s days be numbered? What with mobile phones, i-phones, news alerts will people really be willing to swap their paper for yet another electronic device. I’m guessing only time will tell….
